There's no place like home for Canyon Springs, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They managed a 57-53 victory over the Desert Oasis Diamondbacks on Thursday. With that win, the Pioneers brought their scoring average up to 50.3 points per game.

Canyon Springs found their leader in freshman Mekhi Carter, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gregory Paige, who posted nine points and seven rebounds.

Canyon Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Canyon Springs' record is now 7-9. As for Desert Oasis, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Canyon Springs will welcome Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Desert Oasis, they will head out on the road to challenge Southeast Career Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Desert Oasis is facing Southeast Career Tech at the right time seeing as Southeast Career Tech is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
