After flying high against the East Tartans last Monday, the Green Bobcats came back down to earth. Green was beaten by Huntington 52-23 on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 73 points in the game before, Green couldn't push the score so high this time.
Despite the loss, Green saw an underclassman step up: Abbie Knapp dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 73.9% of Green's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Green struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Green's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Huntington, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.
Green will head out on the road to take on Glenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Glenwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Huntington, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Piketon at 7:15 p.m.
