Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Ari Krasniqi, who posted 22 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Donovan Bryant, who had 18 points.
Meanwhile, Olympian strolled past Valhalla with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 66-47. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while the Norsemen are ranked 696th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Olympian's win came from a few key players Mater Dei Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tristan Anderson, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 12 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammell Humphries, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points.
Mater Dei Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Olympian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Mater Dei Catholic hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 57.4 points per game. However, it's not like Olympian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 64.6 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
