Basketball Recap: Delta Charter Sets Scoring Season-High Against Stockton Christian

Delta Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Stockton Christian Eagles on the road by a 61-42 margin. One positive for the Dragons, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylen West, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Hamlett, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 13 points.

Stockton Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jayden Chamblee led the charge by putting up 26 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Chamblee has scored at least a third of Stockton Christian's points. Another player making a difference was McKenzy Escalante, who posted 15 points.

Delta Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Stockton Christian, they moved to 7-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Delta Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-39 win against Tioga on the 9th. Stockton Christian has also already played their next matchup, a 64-62 loss against Vanguard College Prep on the 9th.
