Despite the defeat, Sanderson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caroline Bradley had ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for Bradley. Another player making a difference was Idah Ongwacho, who posted five points in addition to two steals.
Fuquay - Varina's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Sanderson, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
