Meigs is 7-2 against Nelsonville-York since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Marauders will head out on the road to challenge the Buckeyes at 5:00 p.m. Meigs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Meigs had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt River Valley on Thursday. The Marauders were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Raiders. The victory continues a trend for the Marauders in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Natalie Goode made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bella Roush, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Alie Hysell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meigs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Nelsonville-York entered their tilt with Millersport on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 16-11 win over the Lakers.
Like Meigs, Nelsonville-York also got a great game from a two-way player: Lilly Gura. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Gura has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, Emmie Fowler was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. She also hit three doubles, marking her first of the season. Paisley Stadler was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Meigs pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Nelsonville-York, their record now sits at 6-3.
Nelsonville-York's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Meigs has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Nelsonville-York, though, as they've been averaging 9.6 hits. Given Meigs' sizable advantage in that area, the Buckeyes will need to find a way to close that gap.
Meigs took their victory against Nelsonville-York in their previous matchup on April 2nd by a conclusive 18-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
