It was a good run, but The Don Bosco Dons unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to Winfield-Mt. Union 34-29. Don Bosco was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Winfield-Mt. Union apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Don Bosco lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kaiden Knaack. Despite the final result, he rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 143 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Tenold, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Jake Edwards was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Carter Loyd also helped out with an impressive 100 receiving yards.
Don Bosco's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Winfield-Mt. Union, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Don Bosco does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Winfield-Mt. Union will face off against Bedford at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Bedford is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
