Oxford came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the East Vikings as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Hornets were shut out 3-0 the last time they took on the Vikings, so the Hornets were just returning the favor.
Oxford never let East on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-17, 25-22.
Kaley Higgins paced Oxford's offense, picking up 13 kills. Higgins got some help from Maycie Smith and her 29 assists. Emma Byers controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Oxford's win bumped their record up to 16-4-1. As for East, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
