The Zion Christian Mountaineers will head out on the road to face off against Wellspring Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Zion Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Wellspring Prep will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Zion Christian beat Black River 50-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Zion Christian.
Meanwhile, Wellspring Prep pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 86-64 defeat to West Catholic might stick with them for a while.
Despite their loss, Wellspring Prep saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zeekeal Jackson, who scored 23 points, was perhaps the best of all. Jackson scored a full 35.9% of Wellspring Prep's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Camren Hull was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Zion Christian's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Wellspring Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Zion Christian came up short against Wellspring Prep in their previous meeting back in February, falling 76-69. Can Zion Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
