Given Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Kentwood is ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tahoma's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooke Deyak led the charge by scoring 16 points along with four steals. Deyak continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Adalynn Busch, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Tahoma pushed their record up to 13-2 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 32.92 points. As for Kentwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Tahoma will be playing in front of their home fans against Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Decatur's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. As for Kentwood, they will head out on the road to square off against Mt. Rainier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
