Lakeside Lutheran is 5-0 against Waterloo since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lakeside Lutheran Warriors will be playing at home against the Waterloo Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Lakeside Lutheran will be looking to keep their 20-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Lakeside Lutheran pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Mills. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lakeside Lutheran has scored all season.
Despite their loss, Lakeside Lutheran saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kaycee Guzman, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Kooper Mlsna was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Waterloo's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 103-72 loss at the hands of Belleville. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Saturday (57), Waterloo still had to take the loss.
Lakeside Lutheran's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-1. As for Waterloo, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Lakeside Lutheran against Waterloo in their previous meeting back in December of 2021 as the squad secured a 76-43 win. Does Lakeside Lutheran have another victory up their sleeve, or will Waterloo turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
