The Kaiser Cougars can finally bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Castle out 66-63. Kaiser's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Despite the loss, Castle had strong showings from Keiden Uehara, who scored 17 points along with two steals, and Aukanai'i Arcala, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kaumana Phillips, who scored seven points.
Kaiser's victory ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-17. As for Castle, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-12.
Kaiser will be playing at home against Moanalua at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Castle will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Kalani at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Kalani has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
