St. Luke's Episcopal has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Washington County Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, St. Luke's Episcopal was able to grind out a solid victory over Chickasaw, taking the game 52-40.
St. Luke's Episcopal got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kalaysia Robinson out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Robinson hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Logan Stephenson, who scored nine points along with four blocks and three steals.
Meanwhile, Washington County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 62-49 win over Leroy. Given Washington County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Leroy is ranked 222nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Luke's Episcopal pushed their record up to 7-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.7 points per game. As for Washington County, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
St. Luke's Episcopal ended up a good deal behind Washington County in their previous meeting on January 11th, losing 62-46. Can St. Luke's Episcopal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
