While losing is never fun, Cooper can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1293rd, while St. Stephen's Episcopal is ranked 545th).
St. Stephen's Episcopal found their leader in underclassman Kennedy Lartigue, who scored 19 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Lartigue is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Eleanor Evarts was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Cooper's loss was their ninth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-7. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cooper will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on The Awty International at 5:30 p.m. on February 2nd. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, St. Stephen's Episcopal and Grace Academy will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Grace Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
