Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Santa Rosa Academy). They were the clear victors by a 24-9 margin over Temecula Prep on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Rangers, who have now won six games in a row.
Lisa Marie Cante was a standout: she scored four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aleeza 'Weezer' Dunn 2027, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Santa Rosa Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .364 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Santa Rosa Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Nuview Bridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-1.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Nuview Bridge has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .693. However, it's not like Santa Rosa Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
