Dove Creek came into Friday's game looking for another win against Ouray, but Cavan Pasek wouldn't allow it. The Ouray Trojans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Dove Creek Bulldogs 52-49 for which the team can thank Pasek, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 13 boards. His big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 24 points.

Another player making a difference was Keaton Nelson, who posted seven points and six rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played.

Dove Creek's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liam Hassell, who had 20 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Trevan Ivie was another key player, putting up 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Ouray pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.0 points over those games. As for Dove Creek, the loss snapped their winning streak at 12 games and leaves them with a 16-6 record.

Ouray has already played their next match, a 65-48 defeat against Nucla on the 26th. As for Dove Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-47 loss against Ridgway on the 27th.
