He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaden Evahnenko, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Xavier Roberson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Gilbert posted their closest victory since March 21, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Mountain Pointe 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Johhny King tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Gilbert is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Gilbert's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Raiden Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Brown's first of the season.
