The Putnam Kingsmen entered their tilt with the Canby Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Putnam managed a 78-73 win over Canby on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Canby still got an impressive performance from Dallas Michel, who scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Michel has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Brauckmiller, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Putnam's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.5 points per game. As for Canby, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
Putnam will head out on the road to take on Centennial at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Canby, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts at 7:00 p.m.
