East Newton came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 48-40 victory over the Southwest Trojans. While the Patriots didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

East Newton pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Southwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
