The Mogollon Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the San Manuel Miners at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Mogollon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.2 runs per game this season.
Mogollon was handed a 11-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out St. David 5-3.

Rocky Porter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Yoyo Suarez, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Chancy Worsley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for San Manuel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Valley Lutheran with a sharp 18-7 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Miners have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Mogollon, San Manuel also got a great game from a two-way player: Tanner Decker. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Decker has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. He has become a key player for San Manuel: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise.
In other batting news, San Manuel let Nico Chavez-Molina and Isaiah Huerta run wild. Chavez-Molina went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Huerta scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Marcos Smith, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
San Manuel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Mogollon is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for San Manuel, their record now sits at 8-5.
Both Mogollon and San Manuel just can't seem to miss. The Mustangs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like San Manuel struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
