The Osborne Bulldogs waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with ten straight wins but they left with 11. They blew past Pike Valley 69-43. Given Osborne's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Pike Valley is ranked 263rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Pike Valley still got an impressive performance from Andrew Cooper, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 37.2% of Pike Valley's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Elijah Field was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Osborne's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.7 points. As for Pike Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osborne will take on St. John's/Tipton Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Osborne has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 564 points over their last nine games. As for Pike Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Natoma at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
