The Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 12th straight loss. They were outmatched by Carmel at home and fell 64-27. Joliet Catholic has not had much luck with Carmel recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Joliet Catholic's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophia Mihelich, who scored nine points along with two steals, and Symone Holman who scored seven points.
Joliet Catholic dropped their record down to 5-26 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Carmel, the win got them back to even at 15-15.
Joliet Catholic will square off against Seneca at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carmel, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Mundelein at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Carmel is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mundelein in Illinois (Carmel is ranked 89th, while Mundelein is ranked 223rd).
