Basketball Recap: School of the Woods' Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

School of the Woods had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.2 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Cristo Rey Jesuit Lions as they made off with a 63-38 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

School of the Woods got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Gwinn out in front who posted 15 points along with six boards and five blocks. Those five blocks gave Gwinn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Pace Graff, who had eight points in addition to five assists and four steals.

School of the Woods is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Cristo Rey Jesuit, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. School of the Woods will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Banff at 6:00 p.m. on January 23, 2025. Cristo Rey Jesuit will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Tekoa Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
