It was a good run, but the Fremont Silverwolves unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Riverton by a score of 57-54. Fremont lost against Riverton in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-51 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Fremont had strong showings from Easton Duft, who scored 15 points along with five assists, and Hunter Hansen, who scored 14 points. Hansen scored a full 25.9% of Fremont's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jaxon Slaugh was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Fremont struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Riverton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zach Edwards, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Heninger, who scored ten points.
Fremont's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1. As for Riverton, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Fremont will take on Viewmont at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Viewmont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Fremont is ranked 28th). As for Riverton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Murray at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Murray knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Riverton likes a good challenge.
