Newman AAA pushed their score all the way to 68 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 78-68 to Varsity Opponent.
Luka Toews put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. It was the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Wyatt Nausadis was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Newman AAA has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 19-7 record this season. As for Varsity Opponent, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 366-1300-2.
Newman AAA came up short against the in their previous meeting on Saturday, falling 78-68. Can Newman AAA avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
