The Lehigh Lightning entered their tilt with the Naples Golden Eagles with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Lehigh walked away with a 50-43 win over Naples on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lehigh also won the last time the pair played on January 5th.
Lehigh was led to victory by Rianne Smith and Faith Plummer. Smith dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Plummer scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Lehigh's points. Another player making a difference was Sanaa Geter, who scored six points along with two steals.
Lehigh has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Naples, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-13.
Lehigh will take on Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Naples, they will head out on the road to take on Evangelical Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evangelical Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Naples likes a good challenge.
