The Firth Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Salmon Savages at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Firth has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Firth's last matchup with North Fremont could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Tuesday. The Cougars wound up with the same score they had in their last game (11-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

Linlee Telford made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.
Meanwhile, Salmon was able to grind out a solid win over Soda Springs on Tuesday, taking the game 13-9. With that victory, the Savages brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Abby Jackson was excellent, going a perfect 5-for-5 with six RBI, four runs, and one triple. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Baylee Halle was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Salmon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Firth's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Salmon, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6-1.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Firth has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Salmon struggles in that department as they've averaged .473. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
