Everything went Premont's way against Benavides on Friday as they made off with a 43-12 win. The success represented a nice turnaround for Premont, who in their last game suffered a tough 12-47 defeat.
Premont got off to a slow start in their game two weeks ago against Ben Bolt, but they had no such trouble against Benavides as they cruised to a 19-point first half. Benavides countered with 6 points, leaving the score at 19-6 going into the half. Premont put the match away in the third quarter with 18 points from the offense and zero points allowed from the defense. The victory bumped their record up to 2-4. The loss dropped Benavides' record to 1-5.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Premont take on Bruni at 7:00 PM. Benavides will be playing at home against La Villa at at 7:00 PM. La Villa are cruising in on a three-game winning streak.
