Berryhill has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Stigler Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Berryhill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 142 points over their last three matchups.
Last Thursday, Berryhill didn't have too much trouble with Checotah on the road as they won 42-28.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Dalton Barrington and Jacob Jones. Barrington had a great game and gained 209 total yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Jones did his best for the losing side, throwing for 202 yards and two touchdowns while completing 73.7% of his passes, and also punching in a rushing score.
Another reason for the win was Berryhill's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Barrington and Addison Martin who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Stigler fell victim to Lincoln Christian's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Bulldogs, falling 49-0. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, Stigler couldn't push the score so high this time.
Berryhill's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 4-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.33 points. As for Stigler, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Berryhill has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 214.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Stigler struggles in that department as they've been even better at 233.6 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Berryhill suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to Stigler in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Berryhill have more luck at home instead of on the road?
