The Kalskag Grizzly Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 97-15 defeat at the hands of Aniak. Kalskag has struggled against Aniak recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Aniak got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marshell Dallmann out in front who scored 24 points. William Morgan was another key contributor, scoring 29 points.
Kalskag's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-1. As for Aniak, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Kalskag will head out on the road to square off against Cook Inlet Academy on Thursday. Cook Inlet Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Kalskag likes a good challenge. Aniak won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Akiak at 9:30 p.m. on January 18th.
