The Wausau West Warriors scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They skirted past Eau Claire North 72-69. The victory was just what Wausau West needed coming off of a 71-50 loss in their prior contest.
It was another big night for Ayla Christensen, who scored 26 points along with five rebounds. Kelly Kray was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Wausau West has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season. As for Eau Claire North, they bumped their record down to 7-8 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wausau West on the road again on Tuesday and play against Merrill at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Eau Claire North, they will take on Rice Lake at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Rice Lake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eau Claire North in Wisconsin (Rice Lake is ranked 32nd, while Eau Claire North is ranked 195th).
