Oak Grove is 2-8 against Brandon since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Oak Grove will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Last Thursday, Oak Grove was able to grind out a solid win over Northwest Rankin, taking the game 10-6.
Gage Thompson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered six earned runs on 11 hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mac McDaniel was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eric Booth Jr, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Brandon beat Pearl 7-4 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.
Jay McQueen made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. McQueen was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keith Forbes, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Brayson Hall was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Oak Grove's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brandon, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.
