Marion Center has gone a perfect 10-0 against Purchase Line recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Stingers will welcome the Red Dragons at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Marion Center turned things around against Kiski School on Monday. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 12-2 victory. With that win, the Stingers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Trent Slovinsky and Jaxon Davis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Slovinsky tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Davis tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, Slovinsky posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. At the plate, Slovinsky got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI, while Davis got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Troy Slovinsky, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Drew Runk, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Purchase Line, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They had just enough and edged out West Shamokin 10-9 on Monday.
Devlan Kordish was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Purchase Line's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 3-1 (and 1-9 when he doesn't). Christian Moyer was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one triple.
Purchase Line kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Purchase Line's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Marion Center, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-11.
Marion Center took their win against Purchase Line in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Stingers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
