On Monday, Newton didn't have too much trouble with Millington Central on the road as they won 58-43.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Imari Humphrey, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Humphrey pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sanaa Tripp, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Millington Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Boone, who scored 13 points. Alana Whiten was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Newton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Millington Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8.
