The Tulare Union The Tribe will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kingsburg Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Tulare Union rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 42-14 victory over San Luis Obispo. Tulare Union pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit San Luis Obispo had little chance of recovering from.
Tulare Union's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Crisp, who threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns while completing 91.4% of his passes. Crisp has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Sonny Guess, who gained 109 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kingsburg entered their tilt with Dinuba with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Kingsburg blew past Dinuba 42-8 at home. With Kingsburg ahead 35-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Max Warkentin had an outrageously good game as he threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Warkentin hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Pedersen, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
Tulare Union has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Kingsburg, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 9-2 record.
