West Morgan is 3-0 against Wilson since October of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The West Morgan Rebels will be playing at home against the Wilson Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Morgan has eight straight victories, Wilson has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
West Morgan put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Lawrence 64-18 on the road. Given West Morgan's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while East Lawrence is ranked 307th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Morgan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ti'Airrius Mosley, who picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Fletcher, who rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Wilson took a serious blow against Brooks on Friday, falling 63-28. Wilson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-8.
West Morgan's win was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.1 points per game. As for Wilson, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
