The Oswayo Valley Green Wave's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 54-20 loss at the hands of Port Allegany. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oswayo Valley in their matchups with Port Allegany: they've now lost eight in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Oswayo Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Connor Resig. Despite the final result, he scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Resig scored a full 55% of Oswayo Valley's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Oswayo Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Port Allegany, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Northern Potter the next time they take the court. Port Allegany will host Northern Potter at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024, while Oswayo Valley will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
