West Point is 10-0 against Vinemont since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The West Point Warriors will be home for the holidays to greet the Vinemont Eagles at 5:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, West Point took their match at home with ease, bagging a 73-30 win over Lawrence County. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-14.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Vinemont at home against Brindlee Mountain on Friday as the team secured a 68-32 win. Given Vinemont's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Brindlee Mountain is ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Vinemont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reagan Robinson led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The game was Robinson's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Whitney Quick, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
West Point's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Vinemont, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
West Point strolled past Vinemont in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 52-33. Does West Point have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vinemont turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
