The Hand Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Seymour Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Hand is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy a 20-0 shutout. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Grace Hall made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexa Young, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Phoebe Brennan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI.
Hand always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .844. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Seymour, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past Goodwin RVT 15-0 on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their one-run performance the game before.
Nobody will forget Cassidy Marcinczyk's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Goodwin RVT's batters): she turned in a perfect game.
At the plate, Maggie Sudimick was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Meghan O'Hayre was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Seymour pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hand, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Hand hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Seymour struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
