The Asheville Christian Academy Lions can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 47-27 margin over SouthLake Christian Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Asheville Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2022.
Javier Rice continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 446 yards and six touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Rice hasn't dropped below 300 passing yards for three straight games. Miles Westbrock also helped out with an impressive 99 receiving yards.
Asheville Christian Academy's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. SouthLake Christian Academy's QB won't forget Peyton Raby anytime soon given Raby sacked him five times.
When it comes to explaining why SouthLake Christian Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Austin Williams. Despite the final result, he picked up 210 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Williams' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.
Asheville Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, their loss was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Asheville Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and play against Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Trinity Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. SouthLake Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
