Even though the Northgate Vikings scored an imposing 74 points on Saturday, the Fayette County Tigers still came out on top. In a tight game that could have gone either way, Fayette County made off with a 75-74 victory over Northgate. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fayette County.
Christian McAllister continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 32 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Fayette County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keith Gillespie, who scored 16 points.
Fayette County's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Northgate, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayette County will challenge McIntosh at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McIntosh will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Fayette County is ranked 22nd). As for Northgate, they will head out on the road to face off against North Clayton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
