Seminole Ridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Dwyer Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seminole Ridge will be strutting in after a win while Dwyer will be coming in after a defeat.
Seminole Ridge put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Park Vista 34-12. The victory was just what Seminole Ridge needed coming off of a 43-13 defeat in their prior match.
Among those leading the charge was Roberto Venero, who rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Dylan Reid was another key contributor, rushing for 12 yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Seminole Ridge's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Alexander Binda and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 35 points the game before, Dwyer were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They suffered a rough 28-7 defeat at the hands of Atlantic. While losing is never fun, Dwyer can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 225th, while Atlantic is ranked 37th).
Seminole Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Dwyer, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Seminole Ridge couldn't quite finish off Dwyer in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 and fell 20-17. Can Seminole Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
