The Greencastle Tiger Cubs had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.4 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 30-29 victory over North Putnam. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Greencastle also won the last time the pair played last Friday.
Lamar Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 231 yards and four touchdowns. Moore is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played.
Despite the loss, North Putnam still got an impressive performance from Christian Kramer, who rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 205 yards and a touchdown.
Greencastle's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Brown County and 2-8 Cloverdale (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for North Putnam, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Greencastle will head out on the road to face off against Linton-Stockton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Linton-Stockton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 246 points over their last five matches. North Putnam does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
