St. Edward had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were given a punishing 6-65 loss at the hands of Sterling. St. Edward were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-46.
St. Edward's defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Trevor Rasmussen, who rushed for 57 yards and 1 touchdown. This was the first contest for both squads, starting they off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Sterling a 1-0 record.
Next week, St. Edward take on Dorchester at 3:00 PM. Neither St. Edward nor Dorchester could muster much offensive firepower in their last games, so look to the defense to decide this one. As for Sterling, they will face of against Walthill. Keep an eye on the score for this one : both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up next week.
