The Dripping Springs Tigers lost against the Austin Maroons back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Dripping Springs received a tough blow as they fell 46-27 to Austin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Dripping Springs in their matchups with Austin: they've now lost six in a row.
Leading Austin to victory were Jill Shirk and Kemah Shaw. Shirk scored 15 points along with six rebounds, while Shaw scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Shaw has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Foley Anderson, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Dripping Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Austin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-17.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Bowie the next time they take the court. Dripping Springs will head out to face Bowie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Austin will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
