The Axtell Longhorns were the 39-21 winner over the Riesel Indians when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Axtell took a 36-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians on Friday.
Riesel found their leader in underclassman Matthew Hawkins, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds. Hawkins is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.
Axtell has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-14 record this season. As for Riesel, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-15.
Axtell will take on the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marlin is coming into the game hot, having won their last 11 games. As for Riesel, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mart is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Indians a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
