Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Sumner Stingrays walked away with it. They blew past the Mustangs 56-17 on the road on Friday. Sumner has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Jewel Harwell continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Briana Gill-guyette was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
The victory made it two in a row for Sumner and bumps their season record up to 21-5. As for Lakewood Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Sumner's road trip will continue as they head out to face Riverview Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Lakewood Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
