Even though the Del Sol Dragons scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, the Basic Wolves still came out on top. Basic walked away with a 63-55 win over Del Sol. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Basic also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Basic was led to victory by Kelani Stafford and Alvonte' Nelson. Stafford scored eight points along with two steals, while Nelson scored ten points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Saiah Minnis, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Del Sol lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kasire Johnson, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Todd Fox, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds.
Del Sol struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Basic pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.
Basic's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Del Sol, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10.
Basic will square off against Green Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Green Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 293 points over their last four matches. Del Sol won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. Legacy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
