First Baptist Academy fell 45-36 to Bishop Verot. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for First Baptist Academy in their matchups with Bishop Verot: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, First Baptist Academy still got an impressive performance from Zara Leilani Stewart, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Leilani Stewart's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Molly Loveall, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
First Baptist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Bishop Verot, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Baptist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. As for Bishop Verot, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Riverdale at 5:30 p.m. Riverdale is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
