Kim/Branson is 1-6 against Cheraw since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Kim/Branson Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Cheraw Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kim/Branson has three straight wins, Cheraw has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Saturday, Kim/Branson beat Wiley 54-46.
Kim/Branson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameron Rosas led the charge by scoring 13 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rosas has scored all season. Trotter Watkins was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Cheraw was the victim of a rough 44-24 defeat at the hands of Cheyenne Wells on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cheraw can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while Cheyenne Wells is ranked 43rd).
Kim/Branson's win ended a ten-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Cheraw, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Kim/Branson might still be hurting after the 52-28 loss they got from Cheraw when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Kim/Branson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
